The International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot did not disappoint us this year! The Topiary and plants were beautiful as always and the snacks and beverages were amazing.

If you want to visit Epcot during this years Festival you better hurry as the event ends on June 3rd 2019.!

Having Beverages at The Nomad Lounge in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Great place to relax, grab snacks and/or beverages near Pandora

While at Walt Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park the other day we had some time to relax before our Na’vi River Journey (super awesome ride that is worth taking the time out of your day for) fast pass in Pandora – The World of Avatar .
So we decided to sit and grab a drink at the Nomad Lounge just outside of Pandora next to Tiffins Restaurant . We were lucky enough to find seating in the outdoor area which was awesome as we could still hear the sounds of the bustling park life.

There are so many different custom drink choices it was difficult to pick and choose. We decided to try the Dalang's Delight and Jenn's Tattoo (photos below).

If you like sweet fruity beverages Jenn's Tattoo is for you, plus it looks awesome with the candied Hibiscus flower on top! The Hibiscus flower is edible and tastes a bit like a fruit roll-up, super fun!

Jenn's Tattoo:
Ketel One Vodka, Watermelon, Hibiscus, and Lime Juice

The Dalang's Delight was fruity and little but sweet. The fruit and citrus flavors completely covered the alcohol flavor which made it an extremely smooth drink.

Dalang's Delight:
Starr African Rum, Batavia-Arrack Van Oosten, Van der Hum Tangerine Liqeur, Mountain Berry Tea, Simple Syrup, and Lemon Juice.

In the past we have tried other beverages at the Nomad Lounge and have never been disappointed! We will add some reviews of those in another post. :)

The Beauty of Pandora

Transitioning into night

The world of Pandora created in Disney's Animal Kingdom represents some of the most beautiful and elaborate theming ever developed by Disney. Every trail and turn finds you confronted by a new microcosmic ecosystem, stitched into a single seamless landscape.

Floating mountains loom ominously over pools of unknown creatures and plants. The plant life represents a combination of carefully chosen living exotic plans and movie inspired replicas. The end effect is a living environment that feels as real as the forest behind my house.

Looking carefully into the bushes reveals aging details of the struggle between the native Na'vi and the human RDA force. Artifacts include rusty mechs, old machinery and Na'vi shrines.

All of this pales in comparison to what happens when the sun goes down. The beautiful landscape takes on new life as the plants and creatures dawn bio-luminescent coloring and light up the night.

From the auction block to auctioneer

In a recent refurbishment of the Pirates of The Caribbean ride, the traditional auction scene was replaced with a more politically correct version of events. In the prior versions pirates bid to take home a wife. Seeing a questionable message, Disney replaced the scene with one in which a female pirate auctions off loot and goods pillaged from the village.

There is much discussion as patrons debate tradition versus appropriateness. Where do you weigh in?

Toy Story Land Brings Longer Summer Hours To Hollywood Studios

Starting on July 1, 2018 Disney's Hollywood Studios park will be extending park hours. These new park hours will see the gates open at 8:00am and closed at 10:30pm each night. These extended hours will give guests even more time to enjoy the highly anticipated Toy Story Land Opening on June 30, 2018.

The New themed area will feature:

Slinky Dog Dash - An exciting new family friendly coaster
Alien Swirling Saucers - Ride a toy rocket and avoid the claw
Toy Story Midway Mania - Now a part of the newly themed land
Woody's Lunch Box - a Toy themed quick service eatery.

Disney H2O Glow Nights

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon features Disney H2O Glow Nights

On select summer nights starting June 21, special lighting effects will transform the water park like never before as Buzz, Woody and Jessie throw a Beach Party inspired by their friend, “Partysaurus” Rex. Come join the fun, dance on the beach, play party games, and meet up with Buzz, Woody and Jessie, plus, all attractions are open for guest enjoyment.

According to Disney's website, the parties will take place at

Typhoon Lagoon on Thursdays and Saturdays from June 21-August 11, from 8-11 p.m.

This is a separate ticketed event and the party is not included in daytime admission.

Tickets will go sale March 19 and cost:

$55 (plus tax) for adults

$50 (plus tax) for children ages 3-9

Guests who book a Magic Your Way Package during these date ranges — August 20 through September 29, November 24 through November 27, and December 7 through December 23, 2018 —can get a free dining option. The Disney's Beach Club Resort Opened in 1990 and features a calm laid back atmosphere with just the right amount of luxurious pampering. Connected to the Yacht Club, it has easy access to some of the best upscale dining and watering holes. With an active community and an exclusive access pool, this is a great resort to just kick back and relax.

What makes the WDW Beach Club Resort even more incredible is the easy walking access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. With Epcot only about 5 minutes walk to the rear gate.

An underappreciated WDW experience

With so many entertainment venues available, it is difficult to choose a favorite. That being said when it comes to night time entertainment I find it difficult to find anywhere on property with better music and atmosphere.

Inside, the classic feel of the Irish pub is obvious as you walk through the front door. Two extravagant wooden bars border a hardwood dance floor and a humble stage that is often a mess with instruments and equipment. That humbleness is never long lived. The stage is on most nights ablaze with music and culture. Authentic Irish dancers, singers and musicians cycle through and offer unique takes on Irish music. While I do miss the old days when you could find Brazen Heads jamming on the patio on any given night, I have come to enjoy a more diverse sampling of music over the last few years.

Maybe it's the open sky or the acoustics, I tend to gravitate to the Patio. The bands tend to be smaller and the crowd a bit more interesting. It's rare to sit an evening and not catch noteworthy entertainment. Even the Ferrari Man makes an appearance on occasion. More on him in a later post.
